McCain's Own Congressman a Closet Dominionist?

Another interesting story that I stumbled upon is this one that asks that very question about McCain's representative in congress and his apparent adherence to the dangerous religio-political philosophy of Dominionism.

Trent Franks, the congressman in question, recently gave a "speech" wherein he conflated the Statue of Liberty with the Xian cross, called the current War on Terratm a crusade, and said that all of us out here in the Reality-Based Community are worse -- worse! -- than those "Islamofascists" who are trying to destroy the country from outside, because, as he puts it, it's the water on the inside that sinks the boat.

Okay, you're saying, that's par for the course. He can pretty much say anything he wants, tossing out red meat to his Christianist base in a political stump speech.

Uh-huh. The only problem with that reasoning is this: It wasn't a political stump speech. It was a sermon delivered from the pulpit of McCain's own church!

Politicians need to stay away from religion, and vice versa. When church and state become entwined, you end up with bad government and bad theology.

BTW, McCain ought to be called to answer for this ("Do you agree with him? Or do you denounce, reject, condemn, abhor, disdain, etc etc him?") as well as for his devotion to those frothing-at-the-mouth clinically-insane wingnut preachers he's actively courted the support of, people of the ilk of Rod Parsley and John Hagee (who, for example, stated on numerous occasions that the Catholic Church was a "whore", and worse). But he won't be, and that's because the MSM/SCLM are so fucking in love with the bastard that they can't get off their knees long enough to identify a news story if it came up and kicked them in ass. They didn't have any problem smearing Obama with his "guilt by association" with his own pastor, but god forbid they should show any hint of balanced reporting when it comes to their boy McCain.

After all, he might not invite them to any more barbecues...

Hehehe Farns you're funny... "guilt by association"... what a laugh. Didn't Dumbo quote Wright in his book? Wasn't Wright Dumbo's spiritual mentor?
Wright's church was founded on the beliefs of James Cone. What are those beliefs you ask?:

What the black community wants, Cone says, is for God to assist in its goal of destroying “the white enemy.”

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community… Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.

Obama has been listening to this stuff for 20 years and you really want him leading our country?

Oh and Farns, while I certainly don't agree the Franks religious views, I do agree with him about how liberals are rotting us from the inside. As far as "frothing-at-the-mouth clinically-insane wingnut preachers" go, turn it 180 and you have Frothing-at-the-mouth clinically-insane moonbat secularists" Whoops, I guess you resemble that remark.

And why should McCain answer for Franks??? What is the liberal attempt at logic on this one??? Would you have Adam Smith denouncing Rich McDermott? Barbra Boxer denouncing Diane Feinstine? Just because they are from the same state?

Here you go Farns, I thought you would get a kick out of this website. :
