Turns out that, for an alleged smart guy, Ted Cruz is Internet-ignorant/stupid (he's not even Master of His Domain -- see www.tedcruz.com). He also shares his campaign fundraiser donation page security certificate with something called "nigerian-prince.com". Really.
This is probably not such a big deal. It's not like he's a real candidate anyway. He and the other putative Rethug "contenders" who showed up at the Kochsuckers Gala in Palm Springs are just astroturf meat puppets, running-dog lackeys of the über-rich capitalist pigs who want to give the rubes -- the god, guns and grits crowd of the Moron-American Voting Bloc -- the illusion of "choice" before the adults shove aside the goobers and anoint Jeb Bush (after all, he is "one of them") inheritor of the crown.
Come on, like you didn't already know that?
Anyone who gives money to Ted Cruz deserves to be 419-scammed by a Nigerian Prince.
Unless -- is it possible? -- Ted Cruz really is a Nigerian Prince, and he's been the one all along offering to share, with each and every of us who has an email account, a large chunk of his zillions of dollars, inexplicably tied up in some mysterious African bank, for only a small processing fee (aka "campaign donation")?
Hmmmm...
HT to BadTux the Snarky Penguin for the link to the Nigerian Prince story. And thank you god for giving us an unusually early start with the traditional Republican Clown Car

It's Different. Just Because...
OK, now that Amurrica's favorite Texican, Ted Cruz, has formally stepped up to the plate and accepted a few token slowpitches from the students at Still-Valiant-in-His-Fight-to-Stay-Dead Jerry Falwell's Liberty University, and he is officially a candidate for Presidense of These Newnited Staytes, there's a question that ought to dog him for the rest of his candidacy.
Let's see the birth certificate.
At least he, unlike Obama, admits that he was born in a foreign country. To an American mother and a not-American father. Just like the Birthers claimed about Barack Obama, to the point of getting all mad-dog-frothy around the mouth in their Obama-Derangement-Syndrome madness.
Okay, where are the wrathful "proof" requesters this time? Where are the angry demands for the birth certificate? Where are the my-mind's-made-up-don't-confuse-me-with-facts Teabaggers on this issue? They are strangely silent.
Imaginary conversation with a representative Teabagger:
"Well, it's different this time."Fortunately I don't have a lot of these imaginary conversations any more. Even though I do have Obamacare, I still can't take the medical bills from the resultant physical altercations.
"Okay, why is that?"
"It's because ... it's because ... it's just different!"
"Different how?"
"It's just different!"
"Different because Ted Cruz is a Republican? Different because Ted Cruz is more like 'one of us'? Different because Ted Cruz isn't an uppity 'Negro'? Yeah, it's 'different' this time, all right..."
"See! You agree with me!"
Fisticuffs follow...

Donald Trump Still a "Birther" -- This Time It's Ted Cruz
Jeez, I really don't know why anyone still listens to professional bloviating bad-hair buffoon Donald Trump, but he keeps getting invited to speak at "conservative" events. Including one in Iowa (not-coincidentally the first state to pick delegates to the party conventions), where he made the totally-not-cogent observation that Ted Cruz has an electile dysfunction, what with being born in Canada and all:
"It’s a problem. It could be a difficult problem, but he admits that he was born in Canada," Trump told reporters in Iowa on the eve of the first major gathering of 2016 presidential hopefuls.Everyone else in the world has gone on from this "birther" shit except Donald Trump. It didn't work on Obama, but that's no reason to give up on it.
"He’s a friend of mine. I have great respect for him. But …certainly it’s a stumbling block and he’s going to have to have it solved before he goes too far," Trump said.
Did I say "everyone"? That's not true. I thought erroneously that the Obama Birthers had squirmed back under the rotten logs they had crawled out from, but I was wrong. If you read that story, scroll down to the comments, where you will see things like this:
It isn't about whether Cruz is a "citizen". It's whether he's eligible for the office of president (Article II, section1, Clause 5) or vice president (Article XII) of the constitution by being a "natural born citizen". A special status required by the constitution to be president or vice president period. In short, you have to born on U.S. soil by (2) U.S. citizen parentS [sic]. You should check this out about citizenship http://birthers.org/misc/logic.htm and this http://people.mags.net/tonchen/birthers.htm Inform yourselves, as I can see most of you posting are uninformed and/or misinformed.[Posted by "anonymous" ... and I can see why...]Why do they do it? Why can't they give up? Because they are fucking crazy, that's why.
. . .
The only reason Trump is coming out is because he's got the obots on his ass! They want him to stand on principle and not party and he BETTER DO IT! If we have to sacrifice Cruz to prove Obama ineligible, we will do it! I love CRUZ, but I think he knows the truth. He is smart and I think he is doing this to save America! That's how patriotic he is! He knows he is not eligible, but it will make the courts listen! The obots will file cases and the nedia will follow, not like they have with the 200+ Obama eligibility cases? 200? Yes, you snoozers, 200 cases against Obama and NONE hear on the merits! [Posted by someone calling him/herself "KenyanBornObama"; misspellings, etc., in the original]
I've posted many times before on this particular form of Obama Derangement Syndrome. I guess I had hoped that by now even the most rabid Obama-haters had calmed down a bit. But I was wrong.
At this point Obama is in the last half of his last term. What do they hope to accomplish? But never mind, you don't have to answer that. They want to be "right" -- better to be right than to be factual.
Sad isn't it, that some of them are still willing to waste their lives, waste their time, waste their "precious bodily fluids" on such utter bullshit?

Millionaires For Clinton
A recent poll has Hillary Clinton ahead of Jeb Bush among millionaires by a whopping 72%. Of course that's among Democratic millionaires. Still, she pulled a respectable 31% among all millionaires.
Yeah, that's a surprise -- NOT. She's been a Wall Street sockpuppet/mouthpiece for years, and I really hope the Democrats will come to their senses before 2016 and find someone else to run. But that's like hoping the sun won't come up. At this point, without her even saying she's going to run, she has the nomination locked up.
After eight years of Clinton fatigue, immediately followed by another eight years of Bush fatigue, is this the best that either party can do for our country?
My fear in all of this is that a lot of Democrats view her with scorn, and a lot of people seem to have just a visceral dislike of her. We on the Left also didn't like the way Bill Clinton ran the country during his term in office, the way he had of dividing by triangulation the very people who should have been his chief supporters, the way he "ended welfare as we know it", the way he pandered to the right wing -- of both parties -- and the way he tried to carve out a "New Covenant" position in the middle of the road. To crib from the title of one of the great Jim Hightower's books, the only you thing you find in the middle of the road is dead armadillos.
There's no reason to think Hillary would do much differently than Bill, and gauging by her being in bed with so many Wall Street types, probably worse, and I think a lot of Democrats are going to basically sit the next one out if she's the candidate. I know that I will be hard pressed to find it in me to give her the kind of enthusiastically intense shoes-on-the-sidewalk campaigning that I did for Obama or John Kerry.
And if enough liberals are like me, then we'll end up with a Republican president. None of them are worth, as former Vice President John Nance "Cactus Jack" Garner said, "a bucket of warm piss". (Sidebar: This was reported for years euphemistically as a "bucket of warm spit".)
If Jeb runs, he'll probably get the nomination. That would be marginally acceptable, I suppose, despite the fact that he's another Bush. Even though he's supposed to be "the smart one", he's still a fucking Bush! What would not be acceptable would be if he does not run and Ted Cruz gets the nomination and wins the election.
Then it's Katy Bar the Door for all of us liberals. I'll have to start looking for another country to move to if that happens.
In the meantime, Elizabeth Warren, please change your mind! I'm too old to have to pull up stakes and move out of the country.
