Republican War Veterans Lead Defense of Bush

At least that was the headline for the International Herald Tribune story.

Several members of the House who are veterans are sticking by Der Monkey Fuehrer through thick and thin, it appears, having drunk the Kool-aid early on and are now addicted to it. It's all over the whole "nonbinding" Iraq resolution issue.

One Geoff Davis, a West Point graduate (naturally) says, "this nonbinding resolution serves no purpose other than pacifying the Democrats' political base and lowering morale in our military."

This was quickly countered by the Majority Whip, James Clyburn of South Carolina: "The victory to be won in Iraq is not a military conquest."

I'm still with Jack Murtha on this one, who wants to forbid the Pentagon from sending more "unless they have adequate training and unless they have adequate equipment.".

It's time to redeploy. Over the horizon.
