In April 2004 the Chimperor-in-Chief had the fucking balls to say the following, on television:
Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires — a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we’re talking about chasing down terrorists, we’re talking about getting a court order before we do so. It’s important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.Don't believe it? Thinkprogress.org has a copy of the tape -- watch it and tell me if he's lying or not.
So "we value the Constitution", do we, Preznit Numnutz? Oh really? I guess you value the Constitution so fucking highly that you wrapped it up and put it into a hermetically-sealed box when you instituted those illegal wiretaps at least 18 months before you told this lie. And now you're "staying the course" on your extra-legal acts, which are in clear violation of the law and of the constitutional protections against illegal search and seizure.
So where is the outrage among all you Clinton bashers who wanted to put the man up in front of a firing squad because he lied about a goddam blowjob? Take a look at the list of statements from the Repugnican right when that whole debacle was going down. The Democratic Underground has a lengthy list of official Repug quotations about Clinton's lie (my favorite being this: "How can we expect a Boy Scout to honor his oath if elected officials don't honor theirs?" -- J. C. Watts, R-Knuckledrag)
So, you rightwing assholes, where is it? Where's the outrage?
Where is the fucking outrage, you goddam fucking hypocrites?
We need to impeach the lying bastard. Impeach him NOW!
We just can't take any more of the lies and the crime and the corruption and the erosion of our democracy into the steady slide towards fascism from the corrupt and evil motherfuckers in the Bush Crime Family's Evil Empire.
We just can't.
